- Manage Name Servers -
When you need to change information for your new hosting company, please read this:
- If your hosting company only gave you their DNS server IP numbers, you can translate them into sever names by using this window:
type in host 207.115.185.240 for either IP number and new window will open - copy the HOSTNAME.
- Then replace the current information (in our example greg.magi.net with the new host name, such as dns1.yourprovider.com) and click SAVE CONFIGURATION button.
- Do NOT check REMOVE check boxes on your PRIMARY and SECONDARY servers. Those REMOVE check boxes are there for third and fourth optional name server.
- The updated server information will usually appear in the central database the following day.
- We do not have access to your account to help you with changing your particular name servers. A good hosting company (if you choose one that has customer service assistance) will guide you how to change your Name Server information.
|
- Add Additional Secondary Name Servers -
** IMPORTANT:
Before adding additional name servers to your configuration, you should be
sure that the name server has setup correctly. 24 - 48 hours
after you submit a request for an additional name server, it will be in
the rotation for authoritative lookups and if it is not setup correctly,
your site will take a long time to resolve when visitors try to find you.
If you want to create or modify a nameserver which is based on SAMPLEDOMAIN.COM click here.
